Greenlight is live on the Atlassian Marketplace

Every team that ships software has a version of the same ritual: the go/no-go. Someone asks "are we ready?", and the answer lives in a spreadsheet, a Slack thread, three people's heads, and a checklist that was accurate two sprints ago. When an auditor — or an incident review — later asks who approved this release and when, the honest answer is usually archaeology.

Greenlight replaces that ritual with something Jira should have had all along: sign-off gates on every release. It is available on the Atlassian Marketplace today.

How it works

Each release gets a board of gates — QA, Security, Docs, Legal, whatever your process requires. Every gate has an owner, live-linked Jira issues, checklists, and evidence links. Owners approve with a note, and every approval, rejection, revocation, and override lands in a permanent audit trail.

Readiness is computed, never asserted: a release is ready when every required gate is green — not when someone says so in standup.

The parts people ask about

  • One-click readiness report — export a compliance snapshot of any release: who approved what, when, with which evidence. Copy, download as Markdown, or print.
  • Drift detection — issues that reopen after a gate was approved, and Jira versions released while gates are still red, get surfaced — never silently ignored.
  • Jira version sync — linked fixVersions update the release automatically; the gate board and the Jira release lifecycle stay in step.
  • Insights — cycle time, lead time, and approval bottlenecks per gate, so you can see where releases actually wait.
  • Optional Rovo agent — ask "what's blocking Mobile 2.4?" in chat and get a grounded, owner-grouped answer. The app is fully functional without it.

Your data stays in Atlassian

Greenlight is built on Forge and carries the Runs on Atlassian badge: all data lives in Atlassian-hosted storage, with no external servers, no egress, no analytics, no tracking. It stores Atlassian account IDs only — no names, avatars, or emails at rest. Every Jira read runs as the viewing user, so your existing permission model always applies.
